Cover is glass with frosted finish on the outside; basin and base are sturdy plastic. Feet under base are padded to protect furniture. Overall size is 5.8" high and 4.4" diameter. Diffuser is UL approved. Instructions for use: Fill basin with water to the line and add a couple sprays or drops of scented essential oils to the water, if desired. Plug diffuser into a standard outlet and press the On button; press again to cycle through the timing options of 60, 90 or 120 minutes for the mist. If no time is selected, diffuser will shut off automatically when the water runs out, which is up to 8 hours. Near the base, LED light will automatically move through eight different colors. If you want to keep it just one color, press the Light button repeatedly until your chosen color appears. (Diffuser can be used without water for the lights only; just press the Light button instead of the On button. Turn off by pressing On button 3 times.)
