I am sure you have heard many times by many ministers over the years, but our words hold much power in them. The bible says we will be judged by our words, those we have spoken and those we have not. (Matthew 12:36)

Battles in the spiritual realm are won or lost by the words spoken on the battlefield. When we face the enemy it is our words that shall determine the outcome, be it depression, anger, lust or poverty. The battle is won or lost in our words.

When faced by a foe we need to confront that foe, call it by name and rebuke it by the mighty word of the Lord. Jesus told his disciples to go and cast out demons. They did it all by word, not by anything physical. Jesus also said mountains can be cast into seas and our very words, and our words have the power of live and death in them. (Proverbs 18:2) Jesus never exaggerated nor told an untrue word.

When the storms in our lives approach, they too need to be confronted head on and distinguished by the spoken word, the power God gave us as the priesthood of God.
